Black Mirror (Again)

Follow-up of the first post regarding the first four seasons is here. This covers the latest season which dropped on 5th June.

Striking Vipers

Two estranged college friends reunite in later life, triggering a series of events that could alter their lives forever. (IMDb)

This episode felt exotic and very clean. When things start going down, everything seems to be controlled by the main characters, Danny and Karl (as pictured in the picture above), deciding where the faith of the episode is going to go to, which feels uncommon in Black Mirror universe.

The episode is quite hot too.

Smithereens

A cab driver with an agenda becomes the center of attention on a day that rapidly spirals out of control. (IMDb)

This is that kind of episode that takes turns that feel expected and of course, unexpected. It mainly takes place in the car, where it’s an adrenaline boost producing situation where you get confused why would you empathize with someone that’s threatening someone and repeatedly saying that they weren’t going to do anything to them in the first place. Jaden is also kinda stupid, tbh.

It felt cliché axing the entire situation just because he was paying attention to the phone because he got a notification, then in that short amount of time, a car hit them, killing his girlfriend or something. UK wheel position at it’s worst at this point.

I loved it though, I empathize with bad people from time to time, not naming Chris as a bad guy but he kinda is if you think about it.

Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too

A lonely teenager yearns to connect with her favorite pop star – whose charmed existence isn’t quite as rosy as it appears… (IMDb)

Lots of people hated it, but good for them, really, idc. I loved the episode and it definitely fits the show. I also empathize with Miley, she’s real nice.

The episode depicts very well stages that major artists could or are going through to stay as shiny and spotless as they seem to be. I’ve been passioned about top-dog level controlling manifestations that could be happening to some artists and understand their humanity and fear that they experience when lose control of their mind and body.

Altogether

I really love the visuals of all of this show’s episodes. Their photography direction is limitless appreciative.
